About Cognitive & Neurological Research at GenoPept

The compounds in this range act on the central nervous system through defined receptors and pathways. Semax and Selank are regulatory peptides derived from ACTH(4-10) and tuftsin, studied for BDNF expression and GABAergic signalling. DSIP and Oxytocin are endogenous neuropeptides used in sleep and social-behaviour models. P21, PE-22-28 and Pinealon are studied in neurotrophic and neuroprotective assays.

Research fields served include memory paradigms, anxiety and stress models, sleep electrophysiology, neurogenesis, neuroprotection, and melanocortin and oxytocin receptor pharmacology. Findings come from preclinical and published literature, not from effects in people. GenoPept supplies the range to UK universities, neuroscience laboratories, contract research organisations and independent researchers.

Choosing between neuropeptides for research

Semax and Selank are the most common starting point: Semax derives from ACTH(4-10) and is studied in memory and ischaemia models, whereas Selank derives from tuftsin and is studied in anxiety and stress models.

Purity, testing and Certificates of Analysis

Every batch in the Cognitive & Neurological Research range is made to ≥99% purity and tested by an independent laboratory, Puralytix (ISO/IEC 17025 accredited). HPLC confirms purity and LC-MS confirms identity, and the results are recorded on a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Each product page carries a "View Certificate of Analysis" button, and the full library is published at genopept.co.uk/coa-certificates. See also what a Certificate of Analysis shows.

Cognitive & Neurological Research FAQs

What are cognitive and neurological research peptides?

They are neuropeptides and peptide analogues studied in preclinical models of memory, anxiety, sleep, social behaviour and neuroprotection. The GenoPept range includes Semax, Selank, DSIP, Oxytocin, Pinealon, P21, PE-22-28, PT-141 and related products, all supplied in the UK for in-vitro laboratory research only.

What is the difference between Semax and Selank?

Both are synthetic heptapeptides from different parent sequences. Semax is an ACTH(4-10) analogue studied for BDNF expression, memory and ischaemia models. Selank is a tuftsin analogue studied for anxiety, stress and GABAergic modulation. The GenoPept Semax + Selank Blend contains both in a fixed ratio for comparison studies.

How are these neuropeptides tested?

Every batch is tested by Puralytix, an independent ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory. HPLC confirms purity of 99% or higher and LC-MS confirms identity against the expected mass. The batch Certificate of Analysis is available on each product page and in the GenoPept COA library.

How should I store and reconstitute neuropeptides?

Store unopened lyophilised vials at –20 °C for long-term use, or 2–8 °C short term, protected from light. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or sterile diluent by running the solvent down the vial wall and swirling gently; never shake. Keep reconstituted solutions at 2–8 °C and use within your protocol's stated period.

Are these peptides for human use?

No. All products in this category are supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not medicines, are not approved by any regulator for human or veterinary use, and are not for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. GenoPept does not provide dosing or administration information, and purchasers confirm they are buying for legitimate research.
