Choosing between ancillaries for research
The two products serve different purposes, so the question is usually which size rather than which product. Bacteriostatic water 3ml suits single-vial reconstitutions, while the 10ml vial is more economical for laboratories reconstituting several peptides. The benzyl alcohol preservative limits microbial growth after the septum has been punctured, which unpreserved sterile water does not.

How should bacteriostatic water and glutathione be stored?

Glutathione is lyophilised and should be stored at minus 20 degrees Celsius long term, or 2 to 8 degrees Celsius short term, because the thiol group oxidises readily. Refrigerate reconstituted glutathione and use it promptly.
