What is NA-Semax Amidate?

NA-Semax Amidate is a chemically modified analogue of the heptapeptide Semax (an ACTH(4-10) derivative). It carries an N-terminal acetyl group and a C-terminal amide, two modifications that are reported to increase resistance to aminopeptidase and carboxypeptidase degradation. The parent Semax sequence is Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. GenoPept supplies NA-Semax Amidate in the UK as a lyophilised powder in a 30 mg vial for laboratory research.

The acetylation and amidation are intended to give the molecule a longer functional lifetime in experimental systems than unmodified Semax. NA-Semax Amidate is studied as a nootropic and neuroprotective research peptide in the same broad areas as its parent compound.

NA-Semax Amidate research applications

Preclinical research relevant to NA-Semax Amidate and its parent peptide spans several model-based areas, listed here for scientific context only.

  • Cognition and memory: studied in animal models of learning and attention.
  • Neuroprotection: investigated in models of ischaemia and oxidative stress.
  • Neurotrophic signalling: research explores reported modulation of BDNF expression.
  • Peptide stability: examined as a more metabolically stable analogue for in-vitro comparison.

Mechanism of action (preclinical)

Like Semax, NA-Semax Amidate is reported in preclinical literature to modulate melanocortin-related and neurotrophic pathways, including up-regulation of BDNF and TrkB signalling in animal models, without raising cortisol. The N-acetyl and C-amide modifications are reported to slow enzymatic cleavage, which researchers investigate for effects on functional duration in cell-culture and animal systems. These are laboratory observations, not statements about effects in people.

Available sizes

  • NA-Semax Amidate 30mg vial

NA-Semax Amidate is offered in the vial sizes listed above for UK research laboratories. Wholesale boxes of 10 vials are available through GenoPept for teams running larger studies, with tiered savings on bulk orders. See the bulk and wholesale page for details.

Reconstitution, handling and storage (laboratory)

NA-Semax Amidate is supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed sterile glass vial with a black cap. For laboratory reconstitution, add bacteriostatic water or a suitable sterile diluent slowly down the inner vial wall, then swirl gently until dissolved. Never shake the vial, as agitation can shear the peptide.

Store unopened vials at –20 °C for long-term stability, or at 2–8 °C for short periods, protected from light. After reconstitution, keep the solution at 2–8 °C and use it within the window stated in the laboratory protocol. See the GenoPept guides on how to reconstitute research peptides and how to store research peptides.

Quality assurance and Certificate of Analysis

Purity and identity results are batch-specific. Consult the applicable supplied report for its results and methods; confirm the batch covers current stock and verify the laboratory’s accreditation scope directly.

The matching Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available from the “View Certificate of Analysis” button on this page, and the full library is published at the GenoPept COA certificates page. Learn more about what a Certificate of Analysis shows and the UK legal status of research peptides.

NA-Semax Amidate frequently asked questions

What is NA-Semax Amidate used for in research?

NA-Semax Amidate is used in laboratory research to study cognition, neuroprotection and neurotrophic signalling, in the same model-based areas as its parent peptide Semax. Its acetyl and amide groups make it a more metabolically stable analogue for in-vitro comparison. It is supplied strictly for research and not for human use, diagnosis or therapy.

How is NA-Semax Amidate supplied and what is its purity?

Purity and identity results are batch-specific. Consult the applicable supplied report for its results and methods; confirm the batch covers current stock and verify the laboratory’s accreditation scope directly.

How should NA-Semax Amidate be stored?

Store the unopened NA-Semax Amidate vial at –20 °C for long-term stability, or at 2–8 °C briefly, protected from light. After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water or sterile diluent, keep the solution at 2–8 °C and use it within the window given in the laboratory protocol to preserve peptide integrity.

Is NA-Semax Amidate for human use?

No. NA-Semax Amidate from GenoPept is a research chemical supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only. It is not a medicine, not for human or veterinary use, and not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. Handling should be performed only by qualified personnel in a controlled laboratory setting in line with UK research guidance.

How does NA-Semax Amidate differ from Semax?

NA-Semax Amidate is Semax with an N-terminal acetyl group and a C-terminal amide added. These modifications are reported to slow enzymatic breakdown, giving greater metabolic stability than unmodified Semax in experimental systems. Both share the same ACTH(4-10)-derived core and are studied in similar nootropic and neuroprotective research contexts.

Research use only. This product is supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only. It is not for human or veterinary use, is not a medicine, and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Handling should be carried out only by qualified personnel in an appropriate laboratory setting.
